The Industry
During the COVID-19 outbreak, the demand for no-contact vending machines saw a continued rise. Vending machines for masks and daily necessities, and automatic disinfection machines were therefore born and have gradually become a long-term demand. Contactless self-service equipment, supported by mobile payment, wireless communication, remote management and other technologies, with no personnel required on duty, are expected to experience explosive growth. However, such machines are generally scattered, making traditional Ethernet, Wi-Fi wiring, and operation and maintenance difficult. Operation managers thus need to integrate wireless networking solutions to meet operational requirements. In this way, the cellular network is rapidly expanding its reach by leveraging flexible connections, traffic sharing, convenient management and other advantages.
Fibocom Wireless Solutions
Fibocom LTE Cat 1 modules provide integrated wireless networking solutions for contactless self-service machines.
Since no-contact self-service devices are often scattered, wired networks are expensive and inflexible, making wireless deployment the preferred choice. Fibocom L610 LTE Cat 1 modules are wireless communication modules built on LTE networks, which are specially designed for this scenario. They can provide stable connection for contactless self-service equipment.
Real-time wireless payment
The cashier system of traditional self-service machines receives banknotes and coins only. The rise of wireless payment methods makes it necessary for devices to have network connection functions. With it, payment information can be uploaded to the cloud management platform in real time, which in turn sends instructions to terminal devices to execute service requests. L610 enables self-service devices with wireless payment, with a maximum downlink rate of up to 10Mbps, and an uplink rate of 5Mbps. It also provides stable real-time connection and lower latency of <100ms.
Lower operating costs
Automatic devices have built-in sensors that collect data from each transaction, which forms the basis for big data analysis related to marketing, sales, inventory, etc. With the popularization of online self-service equipment, the continued growth of data upload and download activities, and the increase in energy consumption, device manufacturers often face high communication charges and high labor costs incurred by replacing batteries for machines. Compared with the Cat 4 series, L610 is superior in power consumption and cost-performance ratio, making it a desirable solution to the practical problems faced by customers.
